Was the world created by an intelligent designer? Or was there truly no intelligence behind the beginning of our universe and everything we see came to be by chance, over time, from a system where nothing existed before it.
Those of the “no intelligence” worldview usually all respond with the same question. It’s a question that they claim and believe whole-heartedly refutes the entire belief in an intelligent designer of the universe.
“Who created God?”
How was God created? Where did He come from? What was at the beginning of His timeline? Many scientists, and others as well, propose this question and then laugh in our faces as if they have stumped us and disproved our way of thinking. I don’t believe this is true. Let’s explore the logic of this rebuttal.
This question is not asked according to sound logic. This question assumes, that the God whom I believe created the physical world around us, is bound by the physical laws which He created. The very thoughts, ideas, and understanding of the world by which you ask this question were created by God. Do you not think He is above them?
God does not have a beginning because this would insinuate that He is bound by time. God created time. You can’t use physical laws and ideas of this world to discredit the God that created them. In this argument, you are trying to use the creation to discredit the creator. This logic is flawed. To discredit God, you must use things and ideas not created by Him, but as you, your mind, and all that you know are created by Him, you will never do it.
Revelation 22:13: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
God is eternal. He is the constant of the universe who has always existed and will always exist. Time is only something that exists here in this universe. God is outside of our universe in a spiritual realm therefore the idea of an end or a beginning is not something that can be placed upon God.
How does that work? I HAVE NO IDEA! Because God created my mind to work within the bounds of time. I plan my day according to a timeframe. I recall memories relative to WHEN they happened. I measure events in the world around me by their time relative to my own. That is how God designed my mind to work. His, does not.
God cannot be discredited on the basis of his beginning, as he doesn't have one. The logic of His existence and hand in the world are infallible. You don’t have to like it, but to avoid it, you do have to logically refute it. Good luck.
Psalm 90:2: “Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”
